Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora
We will pick you up at your hotel/riad in Marrakech and start heading to the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n‘ Tichka pass, the direct route towards Ouarzazate. It is spectacular and dramatic route that presents astonishing views of snow topped peaks of the Atlas and many Berber villages. Upon our descend, we will arrive to the cultural heritage site of Morocco; the Ksour of Ait BenHaddou. It was once an important stop along the caravan routes that carried salt from the Sahara and on return gold and ivory. It is the best preserved and well fortified Kasbah with high steep walls of dark red clay, impenetrable at this remote, hillside site. After our visit we will continue on to Ouarzazate from where we set on the road South to Zagora and the Draa Valley. At first traveling through the barren mountains but eventually descending into the Draa Valley. This picturesque valley is well known in Morocco for its sweet dates . The vistas are splendid all the way to Zagora, where we spend the night.

Zagora – Tamengroute – M’hamid – Erg Chegaga
Our first stop today will be the village of Tamegroute, which is famous for its library featuring Korans written as well as the 12th century writings on the animal skins. Then from there, we will carry on to M’hamid, the last town of Draa Valley. Here the road ceases to exist as we set off road through barren routes to the fine sand of the desert. We will travel about 2 hours in our 4×4 AWD till we reach our camp for the night in the sand dunes of Erg Chegaga.

Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Taroudant
Rise early to greet the new day in the spectacle of the desert. Here after breakfast, we will ride camels for about 1 hour to enjoy the region. Then it will be time to depart en route to Foum Zguid. The old rally Paris – Dakar route that offers challenge for any driver. Then at Foum Zguid we will set onto paved roads that lead us along the Anti Atlas to the Souss Valley. We will spend the night in Taroudant.

Taroudant – Agadir – Essaouira
Today we will head to the coast. From Taroudant, it is not too far to reach the metropolitan city of Agadir. We will possibly stop there for lunch and stroll the boardwalk, which is lined by many cafes and restaurants. Then we will travel North along the coast where it will open up in some areas very spectacular views of the cliffs and ocean. Finally, we will arrive to Essaouira.

Essaouira – Marrakech
We will spend most of our day in the coastal town of Essaouira. This city is beautiful with whitewashed and blue shuttered buildings. With a relaxed atmosphere, spend some time to discover this wonderful town on your own. Walk along the old Portuguese ramparts with views of the ocean and rocky offshore islands. Enjoy the UNESCO protected medina where many crafts from the Thuy wood are sold or just lay back at the Essaouira beach. We will return to Marrakech during late afternoon.
